Bar ohne Namen

Trimet Aluminium SE has sold its shares in Bohai Trimet Automotive Holding GmbH to majority shareholder Bohai Automotive Systems Co, Ltd.

Trimet previously held a 25% stake in the specialist for die-cast components.

In 2018, the family-owned company had transferred its Automotive division to a joint venture with Bohai Automotive Systems in order to open up international prospects for the division. This is because globally active automotive manufacturers are increasingly relying on system suppliers that also have a global presence. Bohai Automotive Systems is an automotive supplier based in China that operates worldwide.

"The automotive locations in Germany are competitive"

“The cooperation with Bohai Automotive Systems has developed well in recent years, and the automotive locations in Germany are competitive on the international market. It is therefore logical that Bohai Automotive Systems is now taking over this division in full,” says Philipp Schlüter, CEO of Trimet Aluminium SE.

Bohai Trimet Automotive Holding supplies well-known manufacturers and suppliers in the automotive industry with customized lightweight components made of aluminium. At the Harzgerode and Sömmerda plants, about 800 employees manufacture sophisticated die-cast parts for vehicle construction.
