„Second Hand Machines“ by IMA Schelling
Bar ohne Namen
IMA Schelling offers factory reconditioned used machines
To conserve resources, IMA Schelling refurbishes their pre-owned machines and offers them as "Second Hand Machines." This mainly concerns machines for aluminum processing and other metals.
"We are convinced of the longevity of our products," says Oliver Westerkamp, who leads and supervises the Second Hand Machines department at IMA Schelling. To further extend the already long life cycle of the machines, they are overhauled, modernized, certified, and resold in his department – a resource-efficient, sustainable solution.
With a specially assembled team of experts, IMA Schelling thoroughly overhauls the old machines. Functional components are refurbished, worn parts are replaced, and the control system is replaced or updated. All parts that still function properly are given a second life. "Disposing of functional components is simply a waste of resources," emphasizes Westerkamp. "And that is really not up to date anymore."
Double Sustainability
The Second Hand Machines department offers suitable refurbished pre-owned machines for all IMA Schelling product areas in wood, metal, and plastic processing. Depending on the requirements and scope of the machine overhaul or customer-specific modifications, IMA Schelling provides a warranty of up to twelve months.
Purchasing a pre-owned machine not only means an increase in sustainability but also offers additional benefits. Typically, the availability of a second-hand machine is more immediate than with new machines, allowing for timely responses to changes in production, for example. Furthermore, through refurbishment and modernization, the efficiency of the machine increases compared to the original model – a double sustainability effect. Additionally, customers interested in a pre-owned machine can request individual modifications, which IMA Schelling then implements during the overhaul. The reactions of the international market confirm the company's approach: Currently, projects with pre-owned machines are being implemented in Bosnia Herzegovina, Turkey, France, and India.
Even ageing machines such as a first-generation fh 4 panel dividing saw are overhauled and brought up to the latest technical standards.
