AMAG & Audi: Premium aluminium from Ranshofen

Bar ohne Namen

AMAG Austria Metall AG and Audi have already maintained a strong partnership for decades, and AMAG has now signed a new order that will go down as the largest multi-year contract in the company's history. The cooperation not only deepens the existing relationship between the two companies, but also makes a significant contribution to reducing the CO2 footprint by recycling aluminium return material.

As part of the contract, AMAG supplies premium aluminium from Ranshofen to the car manufacturer - this involves ASI-certified aluminium in strips, which is used for the production of outer skin components and interior structural components. The initial processing of the components takes place at the Audi plant in Györ, Hungary. Years ago, an agreement was reached with AMAG to return the aluminium scrap generated during production to the value-added cycle in the sense of a closed loop and to recycle it in Ranshofen.
